ABOUT MARC JACOBS
Marc Jacobs continues to dazzle and inspire customers, his counterparts and the press each season. Born in 1963 in New York City the fashion wunderkind graduated from Parsons School of Design where he won the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award in 1984. Following Parsons Marc Jacobs did a stint at Perry Ellis until he was fired in 1983 for his infamous 'grunge collection' and then went onto create his own company and subsequent collections under the Marc_Jacobs label with business partner, Robert Duffy. Today Marc Jacobs is the creative visionary behind his labels Marc Jacobs, the diffusion line Marc by Marc Jacobs and is the Creative Director for Louis Vuitton where he is famous for fusing fashion and art, collaborating with trendsetting pop artists including Takashi Murakami, Julie Verhoeven, Steven Sprouse and Richard Prince. |
