This wondrous mini-mall has five boutiques under one name—Soolip. It’s a fine art gallery, a stationary store and a home furnishings/clothing boutique all in one complex. Proprietors Wanda Wen and Grant Forsberg began Soolip in 1995 as a stationary store, selling ribbons, handmade cards and paper by the sheet. The selection here includes rice paper in celadon, dusky mauve and sky blue, wrapping paper as intricately pleated as an Issey Miyake dress and gold-leafed Florentine paper--all so lovely to look at, it shouldn’t just wrap the gift, it should be the gift.
