Prints have gone digital and abstract for fall. Incorporating abstract digital prints you’ll find many designers pushing the pixel with bright colorful and mind-blowing prints for fall. Here are a few of my picks…

Matthew Williamson’s Satin-jersey draped dress becomes a fluid 3-d optical illusion as the dress itself creates kaleidoscopic  movement with enhanced and further dramatized with draping in the silhouette . Looks like a liquid rainbow.

These Sigerson Morrison Printed Calf hair ankle boots add a punk graphic touch to skinny black jeans or pair with tights and a mini. The sleek shape of this boot gets a dose of  Sid Vicious  meets Jackson Pollock.

A bold graphic print on this Anglomania “Friday” printed cotton dress with asymmetrical hem dress from Vivienne Westwood. combines bold wallpaper graphics over pink, navy and black acanthus leaf print. A very traditional textile design, blown up to give it a more abstract feel – a study in contrasts of trad and cheeky – which VW does so well!!

The lazy hazy days of summer are coming to a close. I’m looking forward to a relaxing getaway at Terranea Resort for some much needed R&R before NYFW. I’ve planned my last getaway of the summer with some inspiration from some beautiful Japanese sweets called wagashi. Many of these sweets are almost too good to eat, but that doesn’t stop me!! They are perfectly paired with matcha green tea. These are the same treats that are served during a formal Japanese tea ceremony, which I have attended. I could barely stand up afterwards because you are kneeling for an hour wearing a kimono. But it is worth it because these tiny morsels are an amazing experience of flavors and textures to your mouth. Here in California, I treat myself when I go to Japantown or to this beautiful (and very Japanese shop) located two blocks from my office called Minamoto Kitchoan.

The folds in the ALICE + OLIVIA Reese silk draped blouse and the Splendid Cotton-blend mini skirt remind me of the sculptural designs in the wagashi desserts as well as the delicate pastel-like hues. Other delicate items inspired by these Japanese sweets for my summer getaway include this Alexander McQueen’s Faithful Medium polished-leather satchel, Christian Louboutin’s Rosella ballerina flats, Pippa Small 18-karat gold green tourmaline ring (the shiny stones remind me of semi-opaque liquid qualities of green matcha tea), and these Juicy Couture Daisy Sleepwear silk shorts are about as delicate as you can get without wearing tissue paper.

With a busy life juggling my job, my family and home and trying to keep everything in an organized and stylish fashion my beauty routine needs some streamlining. My ultimate lifesaver for at home and on the go are my Arcona Triad Pads. Love them! In one fell swoop I can cleanse, tone and moisturize – I totally rely on them when getting out the door in the morning. I also keep a jar in my car. My  esthetician at International Orange in SF uses them and now I am a huge fan of the entire lline. The pads are cool and refreshing and leave my face feeling fresh and not too tight, and I love the yummy cranberry smell.

I also adore these other Arcona products. They are all very high quality and originate from the Arcona skincare studio in LA. They are famous for the non-surgical facial massage face lift – which I haven’t tried. That is still a few years off!
