I have been using Mario Badescu skincare products for years now. My complexion is very sensitive with an occasional break out. I am also challenged with red patches of rosacea around my chin that seem to grow darker with additional stress, and chocolate! I try to keep balanced with Pilates and yoga, and I’m not much of a drinker. But my weakness is dark chocolate which does not help my condition. To remedy my weakness for sweets and the resulting breakouts or rosacea, my go to products for skin emergencies is Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion for break-outs and for redness the Mario Badescu’s rosacea products.

The Drying Lotion comes in a tiny glass bottle. Be mindful and DO NOT shake to mix the ingredients before using. Dip a cotton swab into the bottle thru the layers of solution and dab it on. It will leave pink spots all over your face, so make sure you aren’t expecting any visitors for the evening. Sleep with it on and be sure to wear a headband to keep your hair from accidentally rubbing off the drying lotion. The calamine and salicylic acid help to soothe the skin and prevent unsightly (ewww!) white heads overnight. Wash it off in the morning.

The Calma Mask has been a lifesaver when I am stressed out and running in a hundred different directions. It is a soothing mask and I love how it makes my skin pores feel tighter and toxin-free afterward. It is a kaolin clay-based mask with soothing calamine similar to the drying lotion. I follow the mask with a light moisturizer.
